Food grade hose structure
In general, food grade rubber hoses have an inner rubber tube. While it is to deliver foods like milk and wine inside the rubber pipe. Then there is a reinforce of steel wire or fiber. Such reinforce layer offers great pressure resistance. The inner layer is mostly white and the reinforce layer is one or more spiral steel wires. While the outer layer is wear resistant rubber.
Working pressure
Make sure that the working pressure of food hose and joint is greater than the pressure of the system. The pulse or peak pressure in the system must be less than the working pressure of the hose assembly.
Test pressure
The test usually uses water or other suitable media at normal temp. The hose assembly should maintain pressure at 2 times the working pressure for 30 to 60 seconds without leakage or pressure drop. And it needs to maintain pressure for 5 minutes without leakage or pressure drop. Then the rubber food grade hose assembly can pass the pressure test.
Burst pressure
This means that the pressure that causes the hose to rupture should be 4 times the working pressure. Currently, most companies design and produce hoses with 4 times the pressure. But the value is only for hose test and can not be used as a basis for hose selection.
Temperature range
In order to avoid the performance of the rubber hose being affected, the temp of the environment should not exceed that the hose itself is suitable for. Otherwise the hose will age in advance and cause leakage.
