1. Check the Outer Layer of the Hose
First, look at the outer PVC layer of the steel wire reinforced PVC hose. A good quality hose has a smooth, even surface without bubbles or cracks. Rub the surface gently; it should feel tough and not easy to peel. Also, check if the color is uniform, as uneven color may mean poor material quality.
2. Inspect the Steel Wire Reinforcement
Then, pay attention to the steel wire inside the hose. The steel wire is key to the hose’s pressure resistance. Press the hose lightly; it should spring back quickly and not deform easily. For transparent or semi-transparent hoses, observe if the steel wire is arranged tightly and evenly. Loose or uneven steel wires will reduce the hose’s durability.
3. Test the Hose’s Flexibility and Toughness
Next, test the hose’s flexibility. Bend the hose repeatedly; a good hose will not crack or kink. At the same time, check its toughness by pulling both ends gently. It should have moderate elasticity and not stretch or break easily. Poor flexibility means the hose is easy to damage during use.
4. Verify the Manufacturer and Certification
Finally, choose a hose from a reputable manufacturer. Check if the hose has quality certifications, such as ISO or CE marks. These certifications prove the hose meets industry standards. Avoid cheap, unbranded hoses, as they often use inferior materials and pose safety risks.
