Introduction to Welding Hose
Welding hoses belong to industrial hoses, also known as gas welding hoses. It is designed for welding, cutting and related processes. Special welding hose slow-punchers for oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, argon and fuel gases (including acetylene, natural gas, methane and propane) are available upon request. They include: double welding hoses, oxygen/acetylene welding hoses, propane hoses, etc.
The dual hose design can be used, which means that oxygen and fuel hoses are connected together. If separate hoses are used, they should be clamped together at approximately 3 feet intervals, although not recommended in cutting applications, as molten metal beads released during this process may be stuck together and burned between the hoses in which they are located, releasing internal pressurized gas, which is usually ignited in gas.
The hoses are color-coded for visual recognition. The color of the hose varies by country. In the United States, oxygen hoses are green and fuel hoses are red. In the UK and other countries, oxygen hoses are blue and acetylene hoses are red. If LPG fuel is used, the fuel hose should be orange, indicating that it is compatible with LPG. LPG can damage incompatible hoses, including most acetylene hoses.
