Metal hose is a high quality and flexible pipe. While it’s the necessary material for modern industry. It almost serves in all the industrial pipelines. It consists of 3 parts, corrugated hose, net cover and joint. The inner tube is corrugated hose with spiral or ring wall. While the net cover is stainless steel wire braid with a certain parameter.
In the production practice, each metal hose has its own feature. But this time let me introduce you the joint. Joint is an important part of such hose. While a proper joint makes the hose work well without any problem. Otherwise, it may cause leakage or even the whole work has to stop.
Then how to choose a proper metal hose joint?
Actually, we can choose the joint as per 3 aspects.
First, the size. Size is the first factor to consider. Because the size of joint should fit the hose. Otherwise you can’t connect them.
Second, choose the proper joint as per the medium. Because different mediums need different joints. When transfer air, the carbon steel joint is better. But if you transfer water, the brass or stainless steel joint is good. Besides the medium, the temp and pressure. Most of the joint has electroplate. Because the mineral oil or other synthetic fluids may corrode the joint.
Third, the work condition. The work factors such as wet, dust and corrosion will affect the joint. For example, if exposes to the corrosion environment, the joint should be stainless steel.
Last, the structure of valve. In fact, there are 3 types of valve. Thus you should confirm which the valve is. Because there will be liquid flows from the pipe.
