When folded, the inner wall of a flexible hose becomes uneven. As a result, it creates significant wind resistance, which in turn weakens the ventilation effect. This reduced efficiency can’t meet the requirements of a well – functioning fresh air system.
3. Limitations in Airflow
The high internal wind resistance of flexible hoses means that they require a larger air volume compared to systems with hard pipes. Therefore, they can’t be used for long distances or in areas with numerous bends. In central fresh air systems, the standard hard pipe is made of PVC, or polyvinyl chloride. Manufacturers add other substances to enhance its heat resistance, toughness, and ductility. While PVC pipes are commonly used for sewer systems at home, their role in fresh air systems is for ventilation.
