Silicone fire sleeve is a soft insulating casing. The interior is thick fiberglass yarn and the exterior is thickened flame-retardant silicone. After testing, the flame retardant grade is as high as VW1.
So where is this silicone fire sleeve commonly used?
Household, gas pipes, and water heater pipes need anti-scalding and fire protection on the outside.
For automobiles, all wiring harnesses, hoses, and exhaust pipes in the car need heat insulation and flame retardant protection.
Mechanical equipment and some pipelines require high temperature and fire protection.
For marine use, the outside of the wiring harness needs to insulate and protecte.
But in fact, silicone sleeve most commonly serves outside metal braided pipes and hydraulic hose to provide flame retardant protection.
It confirms that silicone fireproof casing has the tests,
High temperature bending test
After heating in a constant temperature furnace at 260℃ for 48 hours, there will be no aging cracks on the surface or peeling off of the coating.
Low temperature bending test
After heating in a constant temp oven at -70℃ for 1 hour. Then there will be no cracks on the surface or peeling off of the coating.
Coating film coating test
After continuous use and testing in a constant temperature oven, no surface peeling or dissolution occurred.
Burn test
Flame retardant, self-extinguishing and no self-ignition phenomenon (in line with UL “VW-1” and CSA “HFS” tests)
Temperature resistance test
(2000hr) 260 ℃ heating test, normal and no abnormality
(30sec) 1200℃ heating test, glass fiber intact
Flame retardant test
The burning speed is not less than 45s/25mm
Normal min insulation breakdown voltage 7.0 kv/min 4.0 kv/min
Normal average insulation breakdown voltage 10.0 kv/min 7.0 kv/min
