Temperature behavior of plastic hose
Unlike rubber hose, cold and heat have a great impact on plastic hoses. Plastic hoses change their flexibility at moderate or ambient low or high temps. At lower temp, they will harden until they become brittle. Passed at high temps close to the plastic-specific melting point in the plastic, i.e. in a plastic fluid state. Due to these, the pressure and vacuum specs of plastic pipes only depend on the temp of the medium of about +20℃. If the temp deviates from the medium or environment, the property will reduce. Worse more, it may fail earlier than the designed lifespan.
The effect of sunlight on PVC hoses
UV radiation from the sun attacks PVC hose and destroys it over time. This refers to the duration and intensity of solar radiation. The sunlight is more less in northern Europe than in southern Europe. Therefore, I can not give a precise time period. By adding special UV stabilizers, the brittleness of plastic hoses caused by UV will slow down. But it will not stop entirely. These stabilizers also allow continuous UV exposure.
