Peristaltic hose is to transfer water, gas or solid or mixed medium. Normally the working life is 1-4 weeks. But incorrect installation or different mediums will speed up the wearing. Therefore, we should install the hose correctly and transfer different mediums with different hoses. This is really matter. Then let’s see some common problems in peristaltic hose.
1. Cutting
Sometimes you may find there is cut on the hose, it’s normally caused by wheel of pump head and flange. The reason for such problem is that the hose in the pump head is too long. When the pump head working, the hose rocks inside the pump and touch the edge of flange. Then the flange constantly wear and cut he hose. The failure process is very fast and the hose will wholly break within 10 minutes. After the breakdown, there will be lots of hose residues inside the pump.
Solution
Guarantee the hose inside the pump head is straight and there should not be too much hose inside the pump. In the meantime, use special camlock to prevent peristaltic hose loose in the operation.
2. Hose lose elasticity; wall turns thin and the surface wore heavily
The reasons are the wheel sticks and the speed is too high. When the wheel sticks, the wheel directly touch the hose. Therefore, it causes high temperature on the surface and will wear it. Then, high temperature causes peristaltic hose lose elasticity. Worse more, 140℃high temperature even cause the hose melt and distort.
Solution
Check the pump wheel if it works well. Then clean the pressed hose and properly slow down the running speed.
3. Hose turns hard and changes the color
This is because the hose can’t transfer the medium,while the medium corrodes the hose.
